Texcel Expands West with New Fernley, Nevada Warehouse
Texcel is continuing its national growth with the opening of its sixth regional warehouse, in Fernley, Nevada. Located just east of Reno, this new 80,000-square-foot is supporting customers across the western United States with their industrial hose, hydraulic hose, and flat goods needs.
Built to Serve the West, Faster
The Fernley warehouse is strategically positioned to help Texcel better serve customers across the West Coast, strengthening Texcel’s ability to deliver critical products quickly and reliably.
For West Coast customers, that means faster delivery times, often just one to two days, without sacrificing the quality and service Texcel is known for.
“The opening of our Fernley facility represents an exciting milestone for Texcel as we continue to grow our national footprint and better serve customers across the western United States,” said CEO Jake Walker. “This location allows us to strengthen our distribution network, improve delivery times, and remain committed to the quality and service our customers have relied on for decades.”
Promotion Spotlight: Bernard Young
Every milestone in our company's history is built by our people. As we open the doors to the Fernley facility, we are thrilled to announce the promotion of Bernard Young to Warehouse Manager. Bernard’s journey with us reflects the very growth we are celebrating today. By bringing his proven track record of operational excellence to this new region, he bridges our company's trusted legacy with our future. Under his leadership, the Fernley warehouse will not only meet our high standards for speed and reliability but will also serve as a foundational hub for our expanding distribution network.
As Bernard begins this new role, Texcel's Director of Operations, Ethan McCarver noted, "Bernard has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, a strong work ethic, outstanding character, and an unwavering commitment to safety and operational excellence throughout his tenure at Texcel. His dedication to our employees, customers, and company values makes him the ideal leader for this next chapter of growth".
As Bernard steps into this exciting new chapter, he offered insight into his journey and vision for the Fernley facility.
1. You've been a key part of Texcel's journey for a while now. Looking back to your first days with the company, what is the biggest change you’ve seen in how we operate, and what has stayed exactly the same?
Bernard: The biggest change I’ve seen at Texcel is the growth in our operations and the way we use technology and processes to improve efficiency, communication, and customer service. As the company has expanded, we’ve become more organized and streamlined while continuing to adapt to industry demands. What has stayed the same is the commitment to quality, safety, and taking care of both our customers and employees. From my first day until now, there has always been a strong focus on teamwork, reliability, and doing the job right. Those core values have remained consistent and are a big part of what makes Texcel successful.
2. Moving from your previous role to managing the new Fernley facility is a huge milestone. What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned during your time here that you plan to bring to this new leadership role?
Bernard: The most valuable lesson I’ve learned during my time here is that success comes from the people around you. No matter how good the processes, equipment, or plans are, it takes a strong team working together to achieve results.
Throughout my time at Texcel, I’ve learned the importance of communication, accountability, and leading by example. Building trust with employees, listening to their ideas, and supporting their growth creates a culture where people take pride in their work and perform at their best.
As I step into the role of managing the Fernley facility, I plan to bring that people-first mindset with me. My goal is to create an environment where safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement are at the forefront, while empowering employees to take ownership of their work and contribute to the facility’s success.
Texcel has provided me with opportunities to learn, grow, and lead, and I’m excited to apply those lessons as we build a strong, successful future for the Fernley team.
3. As Fernley officially joins our distribution network, what are you most excited about building with your new team, and what legacy do you hope to create at this facility?
Bernard: What excites me most about Fernley joining our distribution network is the opportunity to build a strong team culture from the ground up. We have a chance to establish high standards, develop efficient processes, and create an environment where employees feel valued, supported, and motivated to succeed.
I’m especially excited about bringing people together around a shared vision of safety, teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement. Watching individuals grow in their roles and seeing the team achieve goals together will be one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.
The legacy I hope to create is a facility known for operational excellence, reliability, and a positive workplace culture. I want Fernley to be recognized as a location where employees take pride in their work, support one another, and consistently deliver outstanding service to our customers. If people look back years from now and say we built a team that cared about each other, embraced challenges, and set a standard for success, that would be a legacy I’m proud to leave behind.
