What began in 1981 as a fluid sealing and flat goods company has grown into a nationwide organization serving customers across three major divisions: Industrial Hose, Hydraulic Hose & Fittings, and Flat Goods. 

As Texcel celebrates its 45th anniversary, it's an opportunity to look back on the milestones, achievements, and moments that helped shape the company into the industry leader it is today.

1981: The Beginning

In 1981, Ed Loke founded Trelltex Inc. and processed the company's very first customer order, marking the beginning of a business built on service, reliability, and customer trust. From the start, customers came to depend on Trelltex for quick shipments and a large, dependable inventory. What began as a fluid sealing and flat goods company established a reputation for responsive service and strong customer relationships, creating the foundation for more than four decades of growth and success.

1984: Shaping The Hose Industry

Just three years after its founding, the company demonstrated its growing role within the industry by hosting the first official National Association for Hose and Accessories Distribution (NAHAD) meeting in Houston, Texas. This milestone highlighted Texcel's early commitment to advancing industry knowledge, fostering collaboration, and strengthening relationships throughout the hose and fluid handling community.

1990: Becoming Texcel

As the company continued to grow, 1990 marked the beginning of a new chapter. Trelltex moved into a new facility and officially adopted the DBA name TEXCEL. While Trelltex's name changed, the mission remained the same: providing customers with quality products, reliable inventory, and exceptional service. From there, TEXCEL name would go on to become synonymous with trusted fluid sealing and flat goods solutions across a wide range of industries.

2005: Growth Ahead Of Schedule

Growth accelerated in the early 2000s. Following the opening of the Woodridge, Illinois location in 2003, Texcel set an ambitious goal to double the size of the business by 2006. Known internally as "2N06," the initiative reflected the company's confidence in its people, products, and customer relationships. By 2005, Texcel had already achieved the goal, doubling in size ahead of schedule and further positioning itself for national expansion.

2008: Building A Home For The Future

In 2008, Texcel broke ground on its current Houston headquarters, a major step forward in the company's growth journey. More than a new facility, the headquarters reflected Texcel's commitment to investing in the future while supporting continued operational excellence. Today, it serves as the center of the company's operations, helping deliver the service and innovation customers have come to expect.

2010-2019: Expanding the Reach of the Texcel Guarantee

In 2015, the Texcel Guarantee was formalized, reinforcing the organization's commitment to exceptional service, dependable inventory, and customer satisfaction. Continued investments in innovation led to the introduction of an FDA-compliant product line and the launch of the Hydraulics Division. The decade culminated with a 42,000-square-foot expansion of the Houston headquarters, further strengthening Texcel's ability to support customers and positioning the company for continued growth in the years ahead.

2026: Texcel Today

Forty-five years after its founding, Texcel has grown far beyond its origins as a fluid sealing and flat goods company. Today, the company proudly serves customers throughout six locations nationwide, opening their Fernley, Nevada warehouse in 2026.

While Texcel's product offerings, facilities, and geographic reach have expanded significantly, one thing has remained unchanged: a commitment to taking care of customers.
